New patients
Never been to a chiropractor? Start here.
Two things are worth knowing before you book, and both are below: what actually happens on a first visit, and what to bring with you.
You do not need a diagnosis
“My back hurts and I do not know why” is a perfectly good reason to call. Working out the why is the job.
Nothing is decided on day one
The first visit is for finding out what is going on. The plan comes after, at a second visit, once there is something to base it on.
We will say if we cannot help
Sometimes the honest answer is that this is not the right place. You will be told that rather than booked in anyway.
Two things to read
Before your first appointment.
What to Expect
The whole of a first visit, in order: the consultation, the examination, whether x-rays are warranted, and the report-of-findings visit where you are told what was actually found. Written so there is nothing left to discover when you arrive.
Your paperwork
Paperwork depends on the kind of visit, so it is not on the website. Once we know what brings you in, the office emails you the forms that fit. Nothing to print ahead of time, and nothing to hunt for on this site.
On the day
Bring these with you.
- Insurance card and driver’s license
- A list of the medications you take
- Previous medical records, if you have them
- Previous x-rays or MRIs
Coming after a car wreck, or through the VA? Both involve a little more paperwork, and both have their own page.
Book the first visit.
Call and describe what is bothering you. You do not need to have it figured out first — that is what the consultation is for.
