Cold laser therapy
Cold laser therapy, as part of your care.
Cold laser is one of the treatments available here. Whether it belongs in your plan is something we work out with you after an examination — not something decided before we have met.
It is not the laser from surgery
The name causes that confusion. Cold laser is a different kind of device — no cutting and no incision.
It is part of a plan
Cold laser is used alongside the rest of your care, not instead of it. Every treatment plan here is individual.
Your doctor will explain it
If it could help with what is bothering you, you will hear why, and what it involves, before anything starts.
What you are looking at
A handheld applicator, held against the skin.
Cold laser — also called low-level laser therapy — uses low-power light directed into the area being treated. No needles, and nothing is cut.
People hear “laser” and picture surgery. This is not that.
Curious?
Bring your questions to your visit.
The honest answer to most questions about cold laser is “it depends on what we find.” So ask them when a doctor has actually examined you. Good ones to start with:
- Could cold laser help with my problem?
- What would a session involve for me?
- How would it fit with the rest of my treatment?
- Is it covered by my insurance?
Ask whether it applies to you.
Call and describe what is bothering you. If cold laser is a sensible part of the answer we will say so, and if it is not, we will tell you that too.
